Dear Readers,

I'm so sad. I'm done the Wallflowers series! There is a prequel to the series I haven't read, but all my wallflowers romances have been told. It's been such amazing reading!

"I want you to do everything you've ever imagined doing with me . . ." With those scandalous words, Daisy Bowman, the sole "Wallflower" yet to be married, seals her fate with the last man she ever expected to tempt her.
After spending three London seasons searching for a husband, Daisy Bowman's father has told her in no uncertain terms that she must find a husband. Now. And if Daisy can't snare an appropriate suitor, she will marry the man he chooses—the ruthless and aloof Matthew Swift.
Daisy is horrified. A Bowman never admits defeat, and she decides to do whatever it takes to marry someone . . . anyone . . . other than Matthew. But she doesn't count on Matthew's unexpected charm . . . or the blazing sensuality that soon flares beyond both their control. And Daisy discovers that the man she has always hated just might turn out to be the man of her dreams.
But right at the moment of sweet surrender, a scandalous secret is uncovered . . . one that could destroy both Matthew and a love more passionate and irresistible than Daisy's wildest fantasies.

Review
Scandal in Spring was by far the sweetest of the Wallflowers novels. It tells Daisy's story, and Daisy is...well, a dreamer. A sweet, smart, but seemingly naive dreamer. And her romance is just what romance should be, just what Daisy always wanted but never expected; it's unexpected. She thought she'd never fall in love with Matthew Swift, she thought he was a cold, off standish sort of lanky, unattractive fellow, but oddly enough when he comes to England on business (or, more accurately was summoned by her father to marry her) Daisy finds him so changed she doesn't even recognize him. And of course she wants to dislike him, but she just keeps reacting to him.

And to make things even better, Matthew has been secretly in love with her for years. No one has a clue about this fact because Matthew has made sure never to show how he truly feels about Daisy, but it's one of those plot facts that just made me go all awwwww. I rather liked Matthew, he's practical but like Daisy there is a sweetness to his character that is quite compelling. Maybe it's because he finds Daisy so young and dreamy that it amuses him in that awing sort of way. He takes such delight in just being around her, listening to her reveries that it's too sweet of him for me not to love him. And naturally, I have to admire his sense of honor of wanting to keep Daisy at arm's length because of his past.

So, I love this couple. I love how they fall in love, I love the climax of Matthew being arrested, I love that we see something of their wedding, I love the steamy scenes, I love that Daisy was the one who got those steamy going. That was quite a little plot twist, but still in line with her character. She's a romantic, of course she had to carry it through till it was properly done, if you follow my meaning. I also love that Kleypas includes all of the other wallflower couples in this novel and that we get to see something of their married lives after their books. It wraps things up nicely for all of them. My only compliant might be that there wasn't more of Sebastian in this book, but really, there was no way to logically work him into more scenes. So I won't complain. I'm perfectly satisfied with Scandal in Spring.

Favourite Quotes

1. "Matthew," she said simply, "I will always believe everything you tell me."
"Why?" he whispered.
"Because I love you."
The words devastated him. "You don't have to say that. You don't--"
"I love you," Daisy insisted, gripping his waistcoat in her hands.

2. "If you're a ghost...I hope you haunt me forever."

3.Matthew smoothed her hair and kissed her cheeks, her eyes, her trembling lips. "I'll always come back to you. I'm dependable, remember?"
